Hosted from April 28 to May 1, 2025, the ACT Expo was the ideal venue for Hyundai to showcase its strength in the hydrogen transition. Yet rather than merely participating, Hyundai intends to pioneer the field. Ken Ramirez shared insights on the company's daring XCIENT FC vision and its hydrogen strategy.
"At Hyundai Motor, we are redefining the future of clean logistics with innovative solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability," Ramirez says, "By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features and forging strategic partnerships to enhance operations and infrastructure, we are empowering our fleet partners to navigate a rapidly changing landscape and lead the transition to a smarter and more sustainable future."
Hyundai's ambitions set the stage, but the real thrill came when they presented the end result: the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell truck. As the centerpiece of the 2025 EXPO, this production model is dubbed the "world's first mass-produced hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck, advancing zero-tailpipe emission commercial transportation." Already released in other regions, this North American edition brings new enhancements to the market.
Equipped with an upgraded fuel cell system, the truck delivers a maximum torque of 2,237 NM and can cover up to 450 miles on a single fill under ideal conditions. The interior has been refreshed, featuring a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster alongside a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with physical buttons.
If you're a trucker ready to adopt fuel cell technology, the XCIENT Fuel Cell truck is for you.
