2023 Hyundai Tucson vs 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai's lineup of compact SUVs is well-known among American drivers for their stylish designs and smart engineering. The Tucson and Santa Fe, in particular, are two of the most popular models in this category. While the Tucson boasts a more muscular exterior, the Santa Fe offers pure elegance with a sleeker look. Let's take a closer look at how they differ in terms of performance, appearance, and features.
Performance
The base model of the Santa Fe comes with a 2.5L engine that offers 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Conversely, the Tucson offers the same engine for every trim, with a maximum output of 187 horsepower. However, the Santa Fe's Limited and Calligraphy trims offer a more powerful turbocharged 2.5L engine that delivers 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, giving drivers the option to upgrade to higher horsepower and torque.
Appearance
The Tucson features a lower, sloping hood and a more rounded appearance compared to the Santa Fe, which has a higher and more prominent hood. The Tucson also comes with 19-inch alloys, while the Santa Fe boasts standard 20-inch wheels on its Calligraphy trim. The Calligraphy trim offers additional exterior appearances, including an authentic dark chrome grille design. While the Tucson also offers dark chrome grille accents, it doesn't have a full chrome grille. However, it does feature an exclusive N Line grille that's not available on the Santa Fe.
Features
Both the Tucson and Santa Fe offer family-friendly interiors, with the Santa Fe starting off with stain-resistant cloth seats and ending with premium Nappa leather seats on its Calligraphy trim. The Tucson has regular cloth seating and standard leather-trimmed seats on the Limited trim. Although the Santa Fe offers more upholstery options and greater detail, the Tucson also offers exciting features like Black sport leather/cloth seats.
