CarMD recently released the results of their annual Vehicle Index Manufacturer & Vehicle Reliability Rankings, and of those honored, we're proud to reveal Hyundai took the No. 1 spot. The automaker was highly praised for their low average cost of repairs and low frequency of repairs, which surpassed those reported by other big name car manufacturers.
A total of 10 automakers made CarMD's respected rankings for 2015. Additionally, the company ranked the top 100 cars, the top common repairs by car make and the top three vehicles by vehicle category. To come with accurate rankings, CarMD used data analysis accumulated between Oct. 1, 2014 and Sept. 30, 2015 on over 3,800 models created within the last 20 years. From their findings, they were able to determine Hyundai belonged at the top of the rankings for 2015.
"Hyundai earning the top spot in this year's CarMD Vehicle Health Index shows our commitment to designing vehicles with strong durability, quality and reliability," said Frank Ferrara, executive vice president, customer satisfaction, Hyundai Motor America. "When compared with other automakers, Hyundai owners had fewer trips to the repair shop. Furthermore, our pledge to exceptional customer service and owner satisfaction is backed by Hyundai Assurance, offering peace of mind to our owners for vehicle health."
