Over the past few years, Hyundai fans have been asking for new eco-friendly vehicles and the automaker is finally obliging. New reports state the automaker is currently preparing to launch an all-new electric car by 2020 that will feature a 250-mile driving range, blowing many of its competitors out of the water.
The EV market is more competitive than ever these days and Hyundai is one brand that is not going to let the competition get an edge over them. In a recent interview with Autoblog, the company’s director, Byung Ki Ahn, said Hyundai is currently developing a 250-mile electric car that will debut by 2020, along with a 200-mile EC that will land on the market in 2018. The move is a part of the automaker’s goal to offer 26 new green models by 2020, which will include everything from hybrids and plug-ins to hydrogen fuel cell cars. Debuting later this year, the upcoming Ioniq EV is also part of this plan and is set to get the ball rolling by offering a 110-mile driving range that will benefit modern drivers.
At this time, Hyundai has not released any information regarding the new 250-mile EV, but we hope to get some details soon. In the meantime, we can look forward to the arrival of the Ioniq EV at Vandergriff Hyundai later this year.
