2021 Hyundai Elantra N-Line  

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra has earned the honorable title of "2021 North American Car of the Year." The Elantra is the proud recipient of the award given to the Elantra by the American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year jury. The sedan has now received the "Car of the Year" award for the second time; the first win was in 2012. Hyundai as a manufacturer has now earned recognition for the third time.

In 2021, the winner was announced at a virtual event. The jurors selected the Hyundai Elantra as their car choice for the year because of its dynamic design, exceptional fuel economy, and advanced technology. The Elantra is also a top-rated vehicle for its innovative safety equipment. The Hyundai Elantra beat many other cars to receive its title, including the Nissan Sentra, which was a fellow finalist. The jury evaluates vehicles on their innovation, handling, safety, driver satisfaction, value, and leadership in their class to select the winner. The jury includes automotive journalists from Canada and the United States.
