Take a Peek Into the Future

What's New for the 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5?

The 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a new all-electric SUV. The IONIQ features a modern design with a sleek exterior and clean lines. Efficiency is naturally a strong suit of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, which gets up to 300 miles of full-electric range. You can choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with your IONIQ 5, depending on the trim level that you decide to get. The Hyundai IONIQ may be a smaller SUV, but it has a spacious interior that comfortably seats five people. The IONIQ will be available in a select handful of states to start with, and it will be more widely available in 2022 across the country.

2022 IONIQ 5 Trims & Features

Hyundai will produce the 2022 IONIQ 5 in three trim levels. The base trim is called the Limited, which the SEL follows. The base trim level has 20-inch alloy wheels if you get the all-wheel drive edition. An onboard charger is also standard. The SEL has some upgrades, including full LED headlights and leatherette seats. Ambient interior lighting gives the cabin a higher-end appearance. The second trim also adds Hyundai's Digital Key system and comes with a hands-free liftgate. Topping the lineup is the SE, which has ultra-fast charging capabilities and large 19-inch aero wheels. This trim level gets a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument display screen, which is available on the other trim levels. You'll also get a second 12.3-inch touchscreen interface that has integrated navigation. Bluelink connectivity services are standard on this trim level. The SE also sets itself apart from its peers with heated front seats.

2022 Hyundai IONIQ Horsepower

Although the EPA has not yet confirmed final ratings for the Hyundai IONIQ 5, the SUV is expected to reach about 300 miles of electric range in the rear-wheel drive configuration. The all-wheel drive version will get about 270 miles of range. Powering the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a hybrid-electric system that produces 225 HP in power and just under 260 LB-FT in torque. The IONIQ will get a battery pack that provides additional power, and it can charge up to 80 percent on the road in less than 20 minutes.

Hyundai IONIQ Safety

The 2022 IONIQ has a healthy list of safety aids. The IONIQ 5 is equipped with blind-spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. A panoramic parking camera with a surround-view function is also standard.
