We are pleased announce that Hyundai ranked fourth in J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study for 2015, while the 2015 Hyundai Accent and Tucson picked up awards in their individual segments. This is the second consecutive year Hyundai has placed fourth in the study and the second year in a row the Accent climbed to the top of the small-car segment.
J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study measures new-vehicle quality at 90 days of ownership. Vehicles with few complaints reported by their owners during the first 90 days of ownership are awarded for their excellent craftsmanship, along with the brand behind the model. This year, the Hyundai Tucson and Accent rose to the top of the small-car and SUV segments, while Hyundai came in fourth overall with a score of 95 problems per 100 vehicles. The brand reported 17 problems fewer than the industry average, which helped them cement a fourth place ranking.
In addition to the award-winning Accent and Tucson models, two other models in Hyundai's lineup made it in the top two in their respective segments. The Hyundai Santa Fe and Elantra were able nudge their way into second place and secure a strong finish in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.
