Hyundai will be officially launching their second generation of fuel cell SUVs in January 2018 and, when they arrive, they’ll be touting some big changes. Early reports reveal that the new lineup is set to feature a boost to its driving range, putting the models ahead of several of their competitors and at the top of the EV segment.
Outperforming the current Hyundai Tucson’s driving range by 30 percent, the new fuel cell lineup will offer a 348-mile driving range when it lands at Vandergriff Hyundai in Arlington next year. This will put the entire roster ahead of the Toyota Mirai fuel cell, which currently offers a 312-mile range. Thanks to this significant increase, owners of Hyundai’s fuel cell SUVs will be able to travel longer distances without having to fill up their car. This will help save them both time and money, which makes the models must-haves for fuel cell fans across the country.
In addition to building fuel cell SUVs, Hyundai is also gearing up to release a fuel-cell commercial bus later this year.
