Hyundai recently achieved a stunning victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 120, claiming the top two spots. This win was the first of the season for both drivers, and Hyundai also raised funds for charity.
After their success at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 120, Hyundai further solidified its lead in the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Championship (IMPC) Manufacturers' Championship. The winning team of Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins piloted the No. 98 Hyundai Elantra N TCR. This was the first victory for both drivers, but Hyundai's third overall win of the season. The No. 33 car, driven by Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker, finished just behind in second place.
In addition to its racing success, Hyundai unveiled a new breakthrough in hand-control driving technology at the event. This advanced system, used by paraplegic driver Robert Wilkins, allows for smoother braking, faster reaction times, and improved safety, empowering Wilkins to handle the car more efficiently.
Hope on Wheels Contribution
Hyundai's Indianapolis victory was not just about racing success. The automaker pledged to donate $100 to the 'Hope on Wheels' charity for every lap led by the Hyundai Elantra N TCR during the season. At Indianapolis, their vehicles led 67 laps, resulting in a $6,700 donation.
