New Features

The car is offered in base, SE, Sport, Eco, Limited, Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T trims. The most notable change is the car's new center stack, which gets its climate controls and infotainment redesigned for a more upscale look. Plus, the available navigation system now offers free traffic information.

Standard amenities that carry over from 2017 include heated mirrors, tilt/telescoping steering, full power accessories, Bluetooth, a USB port and an auxiliary audio input. The top-ranging Limited 2.0T adds features like driver memory settings, a nine-speaker sound system, heated steering and ventilated front seats - to name just a few.

A Brand-New Transmission

The car's old six-speed transmission on 2.0-liter turbo models has been replaced with a smooth eight-speed automatic that delivers a more exhilarating ride than before, as noted by 2018 Hyundai Sonata reviews.

There are three engines to choose from when buying a new Sonata. Standard, the car employs a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that is good for 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Next up, you'll find a peppy 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 245 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque underneath the hood of the 2.0T models. The Eco trim is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo, delivering 178 horses and 195 pound-feet of torque - it is the most fuel-efficient engine of the bunch. Like before, all Sonata's are front-wheel drive.

Safety Takes Center Stage

Every 2018 Hyundai Sonata in Arlington has been designed to help keep you safe. Standards include stability control, various high-quality airbags and antilock brakes. All models, except for the base, also come with a rearview camera. Optional safety items include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and forward collision emergency braking. This equipment is standard on Limited 2.0T models.
