What's New For the 2019 Hyundai Tucson?

The mid-size SUV class, to which the Hyundai Tucson belongs, is one of the most popular and competitive classes of vehicles. Therefore, automakers must do a lot to make their cars stand out from the crowd. For this reason, the Tucson has some refreshing - and welcome - updates to keep up with, if not surpass, its classmates. This year, the durable Tucson comes with more standard safety features than before. It also comes with a revised drivetrain and updated technology. The Tucson also gets exterior improvements this year in the form of a larger grille and chrome accents, which give it an upscale and luxurious finish. Along with the standard wheels, a handful of optional wheel choices let you give the Tucson just the right look.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2019?

In 2019, there are six trim levels of the Tucson. The base model is called the SE. This trim level packs in plenty of standard amenities for the value. Stepping into the SE, one of the first things you'll notice is a large, seven-inch touchscreen that houses the car's audio controls and connectivity center. This is a nice change from 2018, when the base model had a five-inch touchscreen. With the SE enhanced touchscreen comes improved technology in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition to the infotainment screen, the driver can enjoy a 3.5-inch display screen with vital information like fuel economy and engine output.

Seventeen-inch wheels are standard on this trim. Projector headlights are also standard to improve your visibility. Cloth seats are standard, and you a choice of either gray or beige for seat colors. The next trim level is the Value. LED accent lights and heated side mirrors are standard amenities on the Value. Roof rails give the Value a distinct exterior appearance, while the front seats have three levels of heat for your comfort. The infotainment system in the Value is enhanced with HD and satellite radio. Moving up to the SEL, you'll get premium fascias in the front and back and body-colored door handles. The second row of seats gets its own USB outlet for charging, and the air conditioning is automatic. The Sport edition adds to this list attractive and more visible LED lights in the front and rear.

The addition of fog lights in the front helps you see better when weather conditions are poor. Starting with this trim level you'll also get a hands-free liftgate that can be programmed to automatically open. The Limited, which is the second-highest trim, gives you leather seats for a more upscale interior feel. Both the driver's seat and the front passenger's seat are designed to move in eight ways. A wireless charging device is standard in this level, as is a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. Topping the list is the Ultimate, which adds even more with heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and a larger eight-inch infotainment system.

What are the Powertrain Choices?

2019 Hyundai TucsonIn 2019, the first two trim levels are powered by a 2.0L, four-cylinder engine that generates up to 161 HP at 6,200 RPM and up to 150 LB-FT of torque at 4,000 RPM. The engine on the four highest trim levels is a 2.4L, four-cylinder engine that produces up to 181 HP at 6,000 RPM and up to 175 LB-FT of torque at 4,000 RPM. Front-wheel drive is standard in the 2019 Tucson, but you can upgrade to all-wheel drive if you prefer. Each of these choices provides ample performance, and we are happy to show you the differences during your visit to our showroom.
